How Our Practice Works
Getting Started
To get started here at Premier Mental Health and Wellness, future clients can either submit an online form or call our office to tell us your mental wellness concerns. Our friendly and knowledgeable Client Care Coordinator will take some of your basic information to create a chart and send you our intake documents. These important documents give you the opportunity to review our practice policies and provide background information so we can best prepare for your initial visit. In the meantime, our billing department will take your insurance information and verify your benefits.
Once your intake documents are completed and insurance information verified, our Client Care Coordinator will schedule you with the provider to best address your needs. In most cases, we can get new clients scheduled within one to two weeks!
We do offer telehealth services as well, making it even more convenient for you to receive care.
What to expect for your first medication management visit:
As you check in for your initial medication management visit, our experienced medical assistant will ensure your screenings are completed and take your vital signs before you see the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Your provider will come get you from the waiting room and lead you to their cozy office. Here, they’ll ask more about you while reviewing the information you provided in your intake documents.
Before the visit ends, you and your provider will collaborate on a plan of care (which could include medications, labs, pharmacogenetic testing, referrals, etc.) and discuss when your follow-up will be.
Follow-up visits typically occur within 2-4 weeks of starting a medication or making a medication change and may vary per patient.
All patients are recommended to follow-up at least once every 3 months to ensure there are no major changes between visits. We have found this to be the best way to ensure ongoing stability.
What to expect for an initial therapy visit:
For initial therapy visits, you can take a seat in our comfortable waiting room. At the time of your visit, your therapist will come to the waiting room to take you back to their office.
Typical sessions are 53-minutes and include learning more about you and why you are seeking care.
As your first visit wraps up, you and your therapist will review a follow-up schedule that meets your needs and what to expect moving forward.
We are proud to be a designated Blue Dot Safe Spot, offering a supportive space for those experiencing pregnancy or postpartum mental health challenges. All of our providers are trained in perinatal mental health awareness, ensuring compassionate, informed care during pregnancy and postpartum.
