Hi, I’m Katie, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping patients find balance, feel better, and improve their overall well-being. I enjoy working with patients of all ages, but caring for children and their families is my passion.

My journey into mental health care began while living in a rural community and serving in the Army National Guard, where I saw firsthand how limited access to mental health services can impact individuals and entire families. That experience continues to shape the way I practice today.

I believe healing is about more than treating symptoms—it’s about understanding the whole person, their story, and their experiences. I take an individualized, collaborative approach that may include medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, coping skills, and stress-management strategies. My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their care.

I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Texas at Tyler and spent many years working as an emergency room and operating room nurse before becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find me crafting, enjoying the beach, searching for a great bargain, taking a nap, or spending time with my family.
